The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the entrance to Three Corner Copse opposite the North East corner of Hove Park. Best route up is the middle one that starts about 300 yards up the hill.
Cross Dyke Road at the cafe
Look out for a gate about 100 feet after the windmill on the left
Cross the A23 and head into Patcham.
Head down Ladies' Mile Rd, then up the hill and look out for a no through road on the L. The trail is signposted at the end of this road - follow this to Hollingbury
Over the bridge of the A27 and you should see the trail start again on the other side of the roundabout. Low gear here - it's a little steep and you don't want to fall off in front of all the traffic.
Through the gate and climb up to Ditchling Road. Through the gate just before the road and cross into the car park.
This is a great place to have a play around, as there's loads of singletrack. Head back to the car park once you've had some fun.
You can follow the road on a bridlepath quite a way, but eventually
When you see the sign, head into the Beacon car park where you can pick up the South Downs Way
Head into the car park and pick up the South Downs way. Follow this well marked trail past Jack & Jill windmills (turn left when you see them) and Right past Pyecombe Golf Course
Continue to follow the SDW past Pyecombe church and over the A23
Go past the stables and follow the SDW round to the R. Through the gate at the end of the road and back onto the white chalky climb of Newtimber Hill (there are 3 false summits ending with a grassy climb up to a gate)
After the fast, grassy, descent and the gully you'll come out at a gate by Saddlecombe farm. Follow the SDW still then go to the Left to Saddlescombe Rd and across
Continue on the SDW through the gate at the bottom of the climb up to the dyke
You'' come to a gate at the top of the climb with another gate across the road. Instead of crossing to stay on the SDW, take a Left (you can follow the road on the path) all the way down to the Roundabout.
Take the 2 roundabouts to head back onto Dyke Rd Ave, but turn off to follow Three Corner Copse back down to Hove Park
