I tested this out and it is a terrible route. Speeds on
SR 14 get up to 60 mph, and the road is full of blind turns and 2 inch shoulders. If you take the Historic Columbia River Hwy, there might be no shoulder but the cars keep below 40 mph for sightseeing and if you leave early you'll see more bikes then cars.

It says that there is moderate traffic with a few possible trucks, but a shoulder wider than 3 ft right when the sattalite picture gets terrible.
