The way points of this bicycle route:

Tempe

Start in Tempe. From Hardy and Broadway and go South on Hardy.

L - Guadalupe Rd

Mesa

R - Dobson Rd

Chandler

L - Frye Rd

R - Alma School Rd

L - Riggs Rd

20 mile Stop. McDonald's at Riggs and Arizona Ave.

R - Arizona Ave/Hwy 87

Gila River Indian Reservation

Go left and then slight left onto on Hwy 87. Don't take 587. or Hunt highway.

R - Sacaton Rd. Little to no shoulder.

Sacaton

Straight at stop sign. Road curves left.

R - at sign for Casa Grande

R - at T junction. Hwy 187 / Casa Grande Highway

Cross over I-10 (Exit 185). Road is now called Pinal Ave. or Hwy 387

40 mile Stop. Casa Grande Airport.

L - Rodeo Rd. This next section bypasses the main highway in downtown Casa Grande.

R - Trekell Rd. Trekkell has bike lanes and shoulders on and off. Traffic is much lower than 387.

L - Jimmie Kerr Blvd / Hwy 84

Cross I-10 again (Exit 198). Shoulder disappears. Rough shoulder on and off. Railroad is on the right.

Road changes name to Frontier St.

Eloy

60 Mile Stop.

R - curves into Hwy 87

Over railroad tracks and under I-10 (Exit 211 A or B). Stay right after I-10 overpass, follow Picacho signs.

L - 5th St. Under I-10 (Exit 211) to get on east frontage road.

R - Frontage Rd / Camino Adelante / Hwy 84

Picacho

Picacho Peak

75 mile Stop. Gas Station/Dairy Queen (I-10 Exit 219)

Marana

R - Marana Rd under I-10 (Exit 236). Sign says "Dead End Next 3 Miles".

L - Frontage Rd

100 Mile Stop. Avra Valley Rd. Actual 100 mile mark ~2 miles further.

100 Mile mark.

Tucson

L - Orange Grove Rd (I-10 Exit 250)

R - River Rd

R - La Cholla Blvd.

Get on Bike path on North side of river. Go East on bike path.

Bike path goes under 1st Ave.

R - at bike bridge. Cross bridge to Mountain Ave

South on Mountain Ave

End near Speedway and Mountain

Route Details

If you want to ride from Phoenix to Tucson in a day this is a great route. I did it with a group of friends in January 2007. We rode down on a Saturday, stayed overnight and rode back on Sunday.
