Left turn for Baringhup and Maryborough.

Lunch by the Loddon. General store at caravan park.

Wide open views across the volcanic plains.

Carisbrook

Turn right to enter Carisbrook.

Take left turn for Talbot.

Craigie

Straight ahead across cross-roads for Talbot.

Daisy Hill

Veer left onto main Maryborough Rd.

Turn off left into Talbot.

Chesterfield House B&B, lovely period accommodation

Farmers Market on Sunday. Over 300 stalls fill this small town.

Talbot Railway Station

Set up as an interesting museum collection.

Follow signs to Majorca.

Majorca

Lunch stop at picnic shelter. Water and toilets. An old mining town, now a virtual ghost town.

Lake Tullaroop

Rest stop by the reservoir.

Rodborough

Watch out for the remains of an old shaft mining operations in a paddock.

Strathlea

An interesting old cemetery here.

Newstead

Great afternoon tea stop in the Dig Cafe

Castlemaine

Cresting the last hill for a long descent into Castlemaine.

Turn right at the traffic lights, then left at the roundabout to get to Al Capone's.

Castlemaine

Al Capones for dinner before catching the 7.10pm train to Southern Cross.
