The way points of this bicycle route:
A pleasant route (unless there is a strong southerly), the first half of a 120km from Sutherland to Kiama. Enjoy the coast. Plenty of food and water along the way. If you get too tired, it's easy to jump on a train!
If you have a mountain bike, then avoid the cars by following the old tram line to Royal National Park.
The Audley Hill and other sections of this ride can be fairly heavily trafficked on weekends.
A mountain bike or hybrid is best for Lady Carrington Drive (unsealed). This is surely the prettiest ride in Sydney!
Back on to the bitumen now for the rest of the ride.
Grab a coffee and an applie pie at the top of the hill.
Or an icecream at Bald Hill. The worst of the hills are now behind you.
The new Sea Cliff Bridge includes a shared path and gives spectacular views. Watch for pedestrians -- it's a bit of a tourist attraction!
There is a camping area at Coledale Beach
Join the Thirroul to Wollongong Off road cycleway here (not makred on this map, but easily followed on the ground).
