Surrey Hills

This commute route starts in Surrey Hills and takes mostly back streets to join the Main Yarra Trail to get to downtown Melbourne.

Canterbury

Watch out for school kids and cars near Canterbury Primary School during school hours. The morning is particularly busy around 8:12

Canterbury

Turn off Maling Road onto Warburton Road

East Camberwell

Ride past East Camberwell station on the North side, watch for commuters emerging from the underpass at the station. Continue up the Broadway. Be careful at the roundabout at Stanhope Grove

Camberwell

Dog leg through Burke Road hill section of Camberwell Junction - turn into Burwood Road at the lights. Bicycle lane on Burwood Road to Camberwell Road intersection

Hawthorn

Join Auburn Road at the lights

Hawthorn

Turn left at Auburn Road

Hawthorn East

Bike lane along Auburn Road provides a fairly good run, but watch out for motorists pushing out from side streets

Tooronga

Follow the Gardiners Creek bike path, taking the route UNDER Glenferrie Road

Richmond

Follow the path suspended beneath the Monash freeway to join the Main Yarra Trail to continue on to the city on either the North Bank of South Bank bicycle paths.
