Davis

Start at Starbucks, 2038 Lyndell Terrace (Hwy 113 & Covell)

Frontage Road

Exit Starbuck's parking lot and go straight one block to Frontage Road.Turn RIGHT at Stop sign.

Highway 29 Intersection

Turn LEFT onto Highway 29 and beware of through traffic coming from overpass on right.

Cross Pedrick Road

4-way Stop. Continue straight.

Bridge

Narrow bridge, curve, and elevation causes approaching vehicles to be hazardous. Look and listen for approaching cars on bridge.

Yolo Airport

LEFT turn on lightly traveled Aviation Avenue. Any sounds of gunshots are from gun club on left as you turn.

Aviation Ave. Curve

On windy days cross winds can buffet turning bikes.

Road 95

Turn LEFT on Road 95. Good sight lines and light local traffic.

Covell Crossing

Stop for fast-paced through traffic. Poor sight line on left. Prepare to cross quickly when clea.

128 Crossing

Stop. Turn LEFT on Russell/128 while looking for partially obscured vehicles in either direction.

Russell/Rd. 95 "Y"

Bear RIGHT on unmarked Road 95 keeping nursury on your right.

Stevenson Bridge Crossing

Historic and colorful landmark bridge is narrow with sharp left turn. Look and listen for approaching vehicles.

Putah Creek Road

Turn RIGHT on Putah Creek Road which appears right after orchard on right. This is a lightly traveled straignt road and very popular route for area cyclists.

Putah Creek Turn

Sharp RIGHT bend into prevailing winds.

Putah Creek Left

Follow road curve to the LEFT and enter the most scenic portion of ride. Putah Creek is on your right.

Railroad Street/Bridge

Stop sign with bridge on right. Turn RIGHT, cross bridge and enter downtown Winters.

Main Street

4-way Stop. Turn RIGHT and look for Rest Stop "Steady Eddie's" 1/2-block ahead on left. Bike locks provided by owners during visit.

Steady Eddie's

Return route is reverse of destination route.

Railroad Avenue Return

Turn LEFT at 4-way stop at Railroad and cross bridge.

Putah Creek Road Return

Sharp LEFT turn onto Putah Creek Road. Beware of oncoming traffic from curve ahead.

Stevenson Bridge Return

Stop for through traffic. Lightly traveled with obscured sight lines in both directions.

Russell Blvd. Return Option

If rider is familiar with urban Davis, return via Russell/128 is an option. A bike path is available for much of the route, and the area is quite scenic.

Russell Boulevard Return Left

Stop sign. Sharp LEFT turn. Look and listen for approaching traffic.

Turn RIGHT and expect prevailing winds to be in your face.

Russell Return Right

Turn RIGHT and expect prevailing winds to be in your face.

Covell Blvd Return

Diverging here from outbound route, turn RIGHT at Stop sign. Traffic here is fast paced but moderate intensity. Motorists are accustomed to seeing cyclists. Good well-maintained shoulder.

Shasta Drive Intersection

Returning to urban Davis and approaching Highway 113 overpass. Busiest traffic of entire ride. Use caution.

Frontage Road Left

Passing Sutter Davis Hospital on left, get into left turn pocket at next signal. This should look familiar as this is route taken to Starbuck's starting point. Turn LEFT at signal.

Lyndell Terrace Return

Passing service station on right, turn LEFT on Lyndell Terrace. Proceed to Starbucks lot ahead. End of ride.
