The way points of this bicycle route:
Bikes allowed on Staten Island Ferry at all times. Board on the bottom level at both Manhattan and Staten Island. There are designated bike areas to put your bike on the lowest level of the ferry.
Snug Harbor is a neat City park & cultural facility.
Good vantage point for container ship traffic
Possible heavy traffic & blind curves. Use caution
Enter Bayonne Bridge here on sidewalk. Officially you have to walk your bike, but no one cares.
Good place to get an amazing view of Newark Bay, port facilities, Newark Liberty airport, etc.
Carry bike down/up stairs
Take a detour to 16th Street park
Take a peak into Bayonne Park too
take a peak at the scrap metal facility here. Also you can see the plant where they put O.J. in cartons. "Port Liberte", a condo development is across the cove from here.
There is a golf course on your right here. The road has been relocated to a straightaway here (different from what's shown on map) to accomodate the golf course
