The way points of this bicycle route:
This left turn is somewhat annoying, as cars seldom stop for you. But traffic on both sides of the road moves slowly, and it's 2 lanes each way, so waiting is not problematic.
There is a road here, now.
I suggest leaving the road here, to walk across the crosswalk at the onramp for Memorial Drive (but I'm usually pulling a trailer, which makes merging with rotary traffic difficult).
Crosswalk
Use crosswalk to make left turn onto Memorial Drive, then immediate right.
Take the lane on Plympton, since it's narrow and there is parking on both sides.
Careful with the multiple intersections here.
Overpass
Take the lane here when cars are parked by the side of the road.
Left turn here can be tricky. Watch for traffic from the right.
Safe to go through light when there's a walk signal.
Road narrows here, and often cars parked on the side of the road interfere. When pulling the trailer, I sometimes hop up onto the sidewalk.
When turning onto Massachusetts Avenue, be very careful that cars also turning right in adjacent lane can't drift over too far to the right and hit you.
Drivers often stop to let bikers take this left.
Watch for drivers crossing Elm from Beech. They sometimes don't check for cyclists.
Narrow area, with parked cars. Take the lane.
Left onto bike path.
Careful in this parking lot. (Map is a little inaccurate.)
Take the lane
Turn left at big church.
Great hill when pulling a trailer (if not up for a big hill, take Broadway to Packard instead).
Watch for traffic from the right. They often come fast after the light at Powderhouse turns green.
