The way points of this bicycle route:
Here is my suggested Route. BikeSaint used to live in Marrickville and used a route similar to this.
Bit of a hill
Right
Right. Take care or use the pedestrian crossing. Take it slow up the gentle hill.
Horbury Lane is unmarked. It is immediately after the Baltic Street corner. (If you don't like Mary Street ahead), go straight here to the hub and on to Wilson Street.
Take the footpath to get through to Lennox Street.
Lennox Street
Turn Right into Mary Street. Use the bike lanes. This lane isn't ideal, but we are working on getting it improved.
Stop and cross to pedestrian crossing.
Left into Wilson Street. The Bike Highway.
Slow down and look out for cars on right. Generally a good intersection.
At Gibbons Street, you can move to the front of the waiting cars.
Use the shared footpath to Wells Street.
Stay clear of the car door lane as you could get hit, and there is usually glass on the road.
The traffic sensor registers bikes so you can wait in the right turning lane. Watch for peds when entering the park.
Watch out for peds here too.
Take the bus lane or the next lane over. Traffic is slow.
Take Eddy Ave and 'make like a pedestrian' until you get to Belmore Park.
Join Hay Street and turn right into Pitt. If tricky, do a hook turn.
Follow Pitt all the way to the Mall.
