The way points of this bicycle route:

Downtown Phoenix

Most of this route follows a dedicated bike lane on Central Ave, with some fairly short gaps where you share traffic.

Crossing the bridge is still on a dedicated bike lane but the pavement is littered with debris. Slow down to reduce risk of a flat tire.

South Phoenix barrio

Expect a steeper incline as you approach South Mountain Park from this point

South Mountain Park

Entrance to the park. Pass by horse stables to your left. You will encounter almost no car traffic past this point.

This is one of the high elevation points of the bike ride, with the exception of the very end. Also, there are no cars permitted beyond this point.

Enjoy a smooth, long downhill coast along this paved road.

Get ready for a final hill climb to the end

Enjoy a beautiful view of the downtown skyline from here.
