Shortly after Fox and Hounds PH turn R by grass triangle towards Northend and Turville. This is the start of your descent, and is on a narrow, scenic road with overhanging beech trees and great views across fields and valleys.
Lovely scenery, very quiet road, heading downhill; follow Holloway Lane, ignoring turn to left in Northend
Very pretty village, used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Vicar of Dibley. Look out for the mill on the hill on your left, used in the film.

Right just before pub, dropping downhill towards Skirmett and Hambledon
Keep going downhill
Reaching level ground now; the village is off to your left, and has been used as a backdrop for many films and TV series, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, 101 Dalmatians, Sleepy Hollow and the New Avengers, Band of Brothers, A Village Affair, Poirot, Rosemary & Thyme and Down to Earth.
This road is too busy to cycle on, but there's an alternative route along the Thames path which is all-weather surfaced. Cross the road, and look for a Public Footpath sign in front of you; dismount and wheel your bike along this.
You can wheel your bike over the weir on a footpath; it's just wide enough for two people, with no steps.
Follow the path by the side of the river back to Henley; it is gravel or tarmac because the Regatta uses it each year.
Cross the river on the bridge
Very scenic hereabouts, but your climb is about to start
Right onto Blounts Court Rd
You are back! Well done!
