Snohomish Interurban Trail to Burke-Gilman Trail
by NiteRider

The way points of this bicycle route:

Edmonds

The Interurban Trail more or less peters out here, but you can continue on these less-trafficked roads heading south

Southern boundary of Snohomish County

Get into the left turn lane, head over onto the SE corner of the intersection and look for a trailhead

Shoreline

The trailhead for the Shoreline Interurban Trail is on the southeast corner of 244th St SW/ NE 205th St. and 76th Ave W/ Meridian Ave N. Head up a short hill - the trail winds through the woods.

If you want to connect with the rest of the Shoreline Interurban, turn right here and head over a few blocks. To get to the Burke-Gilman, head straight.

Turn right on 1st Ave NE (watch out for the curb - there is no smooth transition to the street)

Turn left on NE 195th St

A pedestrian footbridge takes you over the crowds of cars on I-5

Take a hard left here and head up the hill on Perkins Way. (Don't worry - it's only about 50 feet of gain and then you'll be cruising downhill!)

Crest of the hill. Take a deep breath and get ready for a long descent

Try to hit the sensors on the road so the traffic light at 15th Ave NE will change for you

Elementary School on your left - the parking lot is a good place for a break (if you need it) on the way up the hill

This road is very shady. If you come through at night bring a good light since there isn't much in the way of street lighting

First stop sign since 15th Ave NE. Head straight across the street

Turn left

If you want refreshment, you could continue straight here to the Lake Forest Park Shopping Center. Otherwise, turn right to connect with the Burke-Gilman

Pedestrian crossing to get across Bothell Way

Congrats! You've just connected with the Burke-Gilman Trail. Turn right to go to Seattle, or left to head towards Bothell/ Woodinville/ Redmond.
