Singapore River ride
by chuwa

The way points of this bicycle route:

Great World City

If you are on folding bike, take MRT to City Hall or Orchard Road station, change to suttle bus (free) and get off at Great World City. First half of this scenic route is about the culture of Singapore. and the second half ride is mainly across shaded parks.

cycling down a small slope from the suttle bus stop, change to pavement. If there is not much car, you may want to cross the dangerous Kim Seng Road at the top of the slope which give you a clear view over a longer distance. WARNING, car are very fast here and you have to cross all the lane in one go!

pedestrain crossing

I prefer cycling along the pavement down the slope, wait for the traffic light at the pedestrain crossing here. Stress free.

Singapore River path entrance- Mirrage Tower

Entrance just next to Mirrage Tower. Nice thing about this ride is that there are bike paths along both sides of the river (mostly), and there are many foot/cycle bridges provided. Your path may be slight different.

Grant Copthorne Hotel

Robertson Bridge

Robinson Quay

Clemenceau Ave.

Raffles Place MRT

The MRT station is just bit further south from this point.

Merlion Park

Here you can find the icon of Singapore- Merlion. You are facing Marina Bay, the location of the future IR- Resort integrated with Casino

Esplanade

Or better known as the two half "Durian". Non-stop art performance and house a nice Art Library.

a little food street. have a nice break before moving onto the 2nd part of the ride.

ECP fly-over

from this point onward it is a nice strech of shaded park area. Not much people come to here. Look up and appreciate the height of the flyover as you cross it from below.

coming out of the shades

cross the road here

Back to pavement riding
