Sackville

(This route is part of a tour. See 'Comments' tag for details). Starting at Sackville Gardens Caravan Park. Turn left into Tizzana Rd.

Ebenezer

(Tizzana Winery on left).

(1 km to the left down Coromandel Rd : Ebenezer Uniting Church, Aust oldest remaining church & school. Est 1809).

Turn left into Sackville Rd.

Wilberforce

Turn left into Wilberforce Rd (Putty Rd). (Some shops near corner).

Windsor

Head onto shared path on the left to cross the bridge, then up the hill on the side road(Old Bridge St).

Merge back into Wilberforce Rd, and turn right at the roundabout into George St.

Walk bikes through mall. (Plenty of cafes and a hotel around this area. Supermarket & Fruit market one block further along George St, then right at Kable St).

Turn right onto Richmond Rd at the traffic lights.

Clarendon

Turn left onto Racecourse Rd. (Clarendon Railway Station on left).

Turn right onto Richmond Rd for around 150m, then left onto The Driftway.

Londonderry

Take first left into Reynolds Rd

Take first left into Macpherson Rd. (Check out the front yard of the house opposite this corner...)

Turn left into Milford Rd.

Turn right onto Carrington Rd.

At the end of Carrington Rd, turn left into Londonderry Rd. (Small shopping centre just before corner).

Take first right into Torkington Rd.

At the first road, turn left into Nutt Rd.

Cranebrook

(Road becomes Taylor Rd).

At the end of Taylors Rd, turn right into Cranebrook Rd.

Turn left into continuation of Cranebrook Rd, just before Castlereagh Rd intersection. (Map is out of date around this area).

Turn left into Castlereagh Rd

Turn right into Old Castlereagh Rd at the large roundabout.

Penrith

Turn left into Leland Rd.

Turn left into Lugard St, followed by an immediate right into Borec Rd.

Turn right into Cassola Pl.

At the end of Cassola Pl, go onto the shared path that forms path of the Great River Walk.

(Points of Interest - Coffeys Bridge over Boundary Ck, and Penrith Weir).

Go up a steep ramp on the left, and around the gate onto Bruce Neale Dr. (Toilets and nice gardens on the left at the top).

Cross over the Great Western Hwy, and turn right onto the footpath or roadway along the Hwy. About 200m further along, you'll cross the Nepean River, but can't see much due to the height of the barriers.

Emu Plains

Turn left at the first traffic lights into River Rd.

(Park with picnic shelters on the left, cycle-friendly toilets on the right. Also toilets on the left, but these are usually locked).

Turn right at little traffic island/slow point into Hunter St.

Right then immediate left into Cary St.

Turn left onto Great Western Hwy. (Shopping Centre with Woolworths & Aldi opposite).

Continue straight-ahead at traffic lights onto the Old Great Western Hwy. (Steady climb coming up...)

Glenbrook

Road ends. Path continues along alignment of old Hwy. (Point of Interest: Monument to John Whitton & Railway Builders).

(Point of Interest: Knapsack bridge. Originally built as Railway bridge, then widened for the Hwy. Stairs at far end of bridge lead under the bridge and up to the Lapstone Zigzag Walking Track).

Barrier across path. Rocky track around barrier - probably best to walk bikes. Turn right onto the walking path (Shoulder of the Hwy behind a concrete barrier).

(Point of Interest: Stairway on right leads up to Zigzag Railway walking track).

Leave path and join roadway (Governors Drive)

Lapstone

Turn left into Darwin Drive. (The hill is a little less severe than straight ahead).

Turn left back onto Governors Drive. (Seat at top of hill just before corner).

(The next uphill can be dampened by turning left into Hume Rd, then the first right into Gregory Terrace, then right into Explorers Rd. This route is longer than going straight ahead up the hill).

Turn right into Explorers Rd (or for those taking the detour, cross over Governors Drive and straight ahead).

Glenbrook

(Point of Interest: Turn left at Emu Rd if you'd like to see Bluff, Ross & Chalmers Lookouts. Distance about 800m).

At the end of Explorers Rd, turn left into Lucasville Rd.

Turn left into Green St (This becomes Park St).

Take first left into Euroka Rd, or straight ahead for small shopping centre, incl supermarket, fruit market, bakery & coffee shops etc.

At the end of Euroka Rd, turn left into Burfitt Pde. This becomes Bruce Rd.

(National Park gates, toll booth & info centre. Toilets & drinking water. Steep descent coming up. Depending on fitness level, it may take 40 minutes or so for the last 4 km to the campground....There is a steep uphill coming out of the causeway which may require some walking and pushing of bikes!)

(Glenbrook Causway - Ford crossing of Glenbrook Ck. Decent ascent ahead).

Turn left. Follow directions to Euroka Clearing. (Road becomes gravel a short distance further, then bitumen again for the steep descent into the clearing).

Euroka Clearing Picnic & Camping area. Composting Toilets, Firewood and Fireplaces provided. There is 1 tap market 'Boil water before drinking'. Fees payable - See comments.
