The way points of this bicycle route:
Take a walk around the back of Rostherne Church for a great view of Rostherne Mere.
Start -park here and follow Cheshire Cycle Route, to main enterance gates of Tatton Park - free entry for cyclists/walkers.
Follow the drive up to Tatton Hall. Stop here for refreshments - can be very crowded. From the House, follow the drive to the Lake/Old Hall (this is worth seeing, only a slight de-tour. At the lake, take the road to the left, slightly up hill, then turn right at the top, through the wooded area, following the track.
As you follow the track through the wooded area, lake, now on your right. Continue downhill to the gate. Go through the gate and go straight on up the track. At the top of the track, go through another gate and turn immediate left, over the small railway bridge, into a small housing estate, turn right out of this estate, and right again onto a main road. Second right takes you downhill, along a small street, and then under a railway bridge into a small park. There will be a small lake on your right.
From the park, access King Street by going uphill, straight ahead. Turn right.
Follow King Street ( one way traffic ), to the Knutsford enterance to Tatton Park. Again, free entry for cyclist/walkers. Follow the drive ( downhill), back up to Tatton Hall. Lake will now be on your right. At the Hall, turn right, and follow the main drive, back to Rostherne
Continue along the drive, back up the hill
This route is circular and can be completed in about 1.5 hrs. It can also be extended, into a figure of eight route, if desired, by going back to Rostherne village, and then following my next cycle route from here to Lymm, Dunham and then back to Rostherne
