The way points of this bicycle route:
Starting in Webb St near Belmore Rd South, head down the hill. Riverwood Plaza is on your right. Theres also some Riberry trees planted in the street. Yum. Peter Bundys bike shop has also reopened Sept 2007 just south of here in Belmore Rd. Please note, Webb St underpass will be closed 16-20 June 2008, 9am-2pm.
Turn to your right to go through the underpass near western end of Webb St.
Single lane underpass. Watch for traffic coming the other way. Please note, underpass will be closed 16-20 June 2008, 9am-2pm.
Veer left across the grass to the path near the mangroves.
A boardwalk starts here, it can be slippery in the wet. To follow this route go straight ahead, if you turn right theres a boardwalk to a BBQ , tap and small rotunda about 200m NE.
Bridge over Salt Pan Creek.
Theres about four steps, or a wheelchair ramp with tight turns. Turn left and go south under the railway bridge. Be aware that bikes are banned from being ridden on the boardwalk :-( If you follow the boardwalk to the NW it takes you up Salt Pan Creek towards Bankstown. Theres often people fishing here (don't eat the fish).
Boardwalk finishes, continue along path..
Leave the path, use Meager Ave to go up the hill to Davies Rd. In peak traffic, you may find it better to use the path south, then Trevone St and the lights to cross Davies Rd, then Ryan Rd.
Cross Davies Rd, it can get very busy and vehicle speeds are high, be cautious. Head to the bus bay on the far side of Davies Rd. In peak traffic, you may find it better to go via Trevone St and the lights to cross Davies Rd, then Ryan Rd.
No pram ramp, you'll need to jump the kerb. Use the path to Parmal Ave.
Leave the path and get onto Parmal Ave.
Roundabout, turn right into Howard Rd.
Padtow Station is near, bike lockers are on your right.
Beacon Cycles bike shop is on your left. Padstow Station on your right.
Traffic lights, cross Padstow Pde/Memorial Dr. Theres a cafe and a fish and chip shop on the corner.
Roundabout, turn right into Doyle Rd.
Right into Baddeley St, then across the across the brige over the railway.
Veer left, Baddeley St becomes Doyle Rd at the intersection with Arab Rd.
Roundabout, turn left into Sphinx Ave. From here theres a long gentle downhill to River Rd, Revesby.
Left into River Rd at the traffic lights. This intersection can get busy.
Right into Marco Ave at the traffic lights.
Continue along Marco Ave. There is also a shared ped/bike path on the southern edge of Abel Reserve near the railway.
Pedestrian crossing, veer left to follow Marco Ave.
Pedestrian crossing. Theres an ATM on your right, Revesby station and bike lockers on your left.
Right into the carpark. You should be able to see the bike racks from here.
First left towards Woolworths.
Theres nice shiny bike racks right outside Woolworths. Jon-Pierre's is a good cafe about 100m north, and for those who want something else Gloria Jeans is just south.
