The way points of this bicycle route:
Old middle-income neighborhood. Wide low-traffic roads. Fair-poor asphalt conditions esp. at the railroad tracks.
City corridor between downtown and the University to the east. Very busy. 5-foot bike path but modest vehicle speeds (35-mph). Look out for cars turning off or onto this road.
Very low-income neighborhood. Don't have a flat here at night. Look out for the push carts.
Older lower-income neighborhood. Look out for the pushcarts and pedestrians J-walking.
Narrow road. Fast (30+mph) drop-in and steep climb out. Blind turn on the north trip at Arroyo Drive. No sidewalks; look out for school kids at start/end of school day and locals walking in the AMs.
Nice view of the golf course. This road is very narrow on this stretch. Very little traffic. Nobody respects the painted centerline; oncoming cars in your lane.
Old community. No bike lanes. No sidewalks or only on one side; look out for pedestrians on the asphalt. Little traffic.
5-foot bike lane. Heavy traffic at high speeds (50-60 mph). Watch out for tractor-trailers on the curves passing you; very close shaves.
Quiet wealthy community of custom homes. Very little traffic. Fair to poor asphalt with speed bumps.
Lots of cut-through traffic avoiding Trautwein lights.
