The way points of this bicycle route:
At Elkhorn and the Levee Road is where to start. South of Elkhorn the Levee Road is blocked to traffic. Park your car on the East side of the Levee in the parking area (at your own risk)
This is a beautiful area full of water fowl. You are riding on the levee road and there is very minimal to no traffic.
Passing near the water displacement building.
Once the levee road comes to an end veer left and go under Main Ave.. The Bike Trail starts here. No more cars until CSUS practically.
El Camino Ave can be very busy. Cross Safely. muddy dirt trail goes under Street but can be dangerous in the winter.
Go under overpass and continue alongside sidewalk on Arden way onto Northgate Blvd. Transition to American river bike trail is painless.
Very scenic
When you come out from under the train tressel stay to the right.
Careful not to run Stop signs on M St. Tickets are not unheard of here. $270
Turn Left on 48th St. and continue after FolsoM Blvd
Careful at Folsom Blvd. Very busy.
