The way points of this bicycle route:
119th and Winchester. This is a business parking lot. There's plenty of room in a nice part of town, making it a good place to start.
118th Ter and Renner Blvd. Take a left onto Renner, and make note of the tower right across the street. Easy landmark on the way back. Renner is lightly hilly on the way out, typically with a tailwind.
Renner and 95th. Take a left on 95th St, also known as Prairie Star Pkwy.
Prairie Star Pkwy. Right about here, there's a nice downhill... followed by an equally nice incline.
95th and Woodland Dr. Take a right on Woodland Dr.
Woodland Dr.. A long and good grade downhill starts about here. It makes for some easy 45 - 50mph runs... just remember, you'll have to come back up this later.
Woodland Dr. and 83rd. Take a left onto 83rd. Relatively high traffic here, and you're at the bottom of a series of moderate hills that can be taxing.
83rd and Monticello Rd.. After the hills, this little stretch is a much needed recovery.
Monticello Rd. and 75th St.. Take a left on 75th. Pretty easy riding, though the surface is a touch rough.
75th and Hwy K7. Straight across the highway here... be very careful and watch for traffic please.
75th and Gleason. Take a right on Gleason Rd. Nothing terribly difficult here.
Gleason Rd. and 71st St. Left on 71st St. A bit hilly, but nothing major.
71st and Mize Rd. Left on Mize. The surface is a little rough in places, but overall, it's pretty decent riding here.
Right around in here, level road turns into slow and grueling incline... good for the leg muscles.
Mize and 83rd. Back onto 83rd St. A touch hilly, but again, nothing bad.
You'll be crossing over Hwy K7 here. Stoplights, potholes and high traffic abounds.
83rd and Monticello Ter. There's a convenience store here that makes for a good rest point if you're of the mind.
Back on the 83rd St hills... not so bad this time, coming the other way as we are.
83rd and Woodland Dr. Take a right onto Woodland Dr. Careful here, it can sneak up on you if you're not... uh... careful.
And here's probably the worst hill of the day. 45 - 50mph on the way down... 10 - 15mph on the way up.
Woodland Dr and 95th . Remember, 95th St is the same as Prairie Star Pkwy. Take a left here at the stoplight.
About here is a nice downhill, but don't spend yourself, b/c what follows is a long and grueling incline that doesn't really quit on you until you reach Renner. Ok, maybe THIS is the worst hill of the day...
95th and Renner. Take a right on Renner, and take this opportunity to recover after that last hill. You'll probably have the wind in your face, and Renner isn't exactly flat.
Renner Blvd and 118th Ter. Almost home... take a right on 118th Ter directly opposite that weird tower.
Back home, at just shy of 25 miles.
