The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the Town Hall
Head north along Kent St
Cross the road, get on the footpath and head towards the bridge
Follow your nose to the path on the western side of the coat hanger
Love the steps. Hey - we're in Sydney - cycling's meant to be hard!
Careful with the traffic. It's not too bad here and it's very quiet on a Sunday morning.
Fairly fast moving traffic, but it's downhill so go for it!
On to the bike path and the old railway bridge. Ride flat-out: it makes lotsa noise!
Loop back to go under the rail
New streets aren't marked, but follow your nose and the bike lanes past the big shooping centre towards Homebush
On the bike path. Watch for those pesty peds
Why not Hetrocentennial Park? Follow the signs to Strathfield, Botany bay, Homebush
Follow the path along Powell's Creek
You're not supposed to do a right-hand turn here, but some people think that we're not even supposed to be on the road at all. To hell with them!
Breakfast!
Go under the defacto freeway and loop back to the old bridge (no cars!) then up the hill
Take the pedestrian / cycle overpass over Victoria Rd and turn left (south) when you get back to Victoria Rd. Stay on the footpath and take the cycle path
Careful here. The ramp from the bridge ends outside the front door of a block flats. Taxis regularly park across the ramp on to the street
Watch for piss heads outside the pub and peds on the Pyrmont Bridge. Nearly there!
There's a shared path along the freeway here
Careful at the corner of Sussex St. Drivers tend to fly around this corner when turning left. Head up the hill and when you get to the top, get into the right lane.
