Prouty Training Ride
A training loop from the start line of the Annual Prouty. There are three 1/2-mile climbs between start and Lyme, NH. The first one, 2.5 miles into the course, is the toughest of the three.
Nice pit stop at the Lyme Country Store. Outdoor porta-potty.
The descent from Lyme to E Thetford is sometimes steep and always bumpy. Keep your speed down and use extreme caution on this downhill leg to avoid being swallowed by a hole in the road. There are no shoulders on this descent and very winding curves.
Rt 5 south in Vermont is a yawn, but a great place to practice drafting and paceline skills if you're training with a group.
Great pit stop in Norwich, VT at Dan & Whits General Store.
The last climb of the ride goes up from the Ledyard Bridge into Hanover. It's steep, but at least it's shorter than the earlier climbs.
Once on Main St, it's an easy cruise back to Richmond Middle School.by Spin_Doctor
