The way points of this bicycle route:

Rochester

Douglas trail head in Rochester

Douglas

Pine Island

Douglas trailhead in Pine Island. Will be about 40 miles to the next full service rest stop. Is a church to obtain water from at about 20 miles

Old "St. Rose" church on south side of Co 11 east of the intersection with Co 1

Aspelund

Outside water faucet at church on West side of road

Will follow hwy 52 north for about 500 feet to continue on Co Rd 1

Cannon Falls

Rest area at Riverside Park plus several gas stations to stop at. Fast food at Hwy 52

Hastings

Not a good sholder on Hwy 61 though down town. Suggest using side streets to get through town

Porta-potty at intersection

May wish to use sidewalk across the bridge.

Hwy 61 sholder gets rough for a while

Rough sholder on Hwy 61. Exit onto Kimbro Ave and use the frontage road

Ravine Park main enterance. Follow (rough) road to a water/rest room stop. Then hop on (smooth) trail through park ... away from the highway noise for a while!

Lake Elmo

There is a Kwik Trip if take bike trail on east side of Manning Ave -- about 300 feet south of Co rd 12

sunrise prairie/hardwood creek trail

Cross Hwy 61 to get on bike trail

Forest Lake

Wyoming

Stacy

North Branch

Food at the trailhead plus fast food near freeway intersection. May wish to take 1st residential street south of Main St (less traffic) and go east. That road basically ends at Mc-D's parking lot.

Bike trail ends. Will need to use old Hwy 61 sholder from here to Hinckley. Sholder is okay. Sholder narrows some for about the middle 1/3 of distance to Hinckley (after county change). Good sholder from Pine City to Hinckley

Rush City

Pine City

Cross over interstate to continue north on old Hwy 61

Hinckley

Left on 18 (2nd st) and watch for trail head signs

Willard Munger Trail

Finlayson

Willow River

Sturgeon Lake

Moose Lake

Barnum

Mahtowa

Trailhead on Grand Ave (Hwy 23) and 75th Ave. Grand Ave has a sholder.
