The way points of this bicycle route:

Turn Left onto Chester Road

Turn Left onto Lambton estate road. Hop the kerb, and around the gate

Lambton estate

Take the right fork and around the tree trunk

Cross the road and continue along the singlettrack

Mount Pleasant

Cross under the Washington Highway and along the river

Cross the road and behind the terrace of houses

James Steel Park

Follow the riverside path

wooded singletrack - watch out for walkers & doggies

Under the Queen Victoria viaduct

Cox Green

Dismount through the gate

Hang a right at the pub (or stop for a pint!). Short, sharp climb ahead...

At the stables at the top of the hill, hang a left

Hang a right at the end of the road, another short, sharp climb ahead...

Offerton

Turn right back onto Chester Road. Footpath is available if needed - traffic on the dual carriageway section can be hairy at times

Penshaw

Pass Penshaw Monument to your right. Go straight over the roundabout

Herrington Country Park to your left - good for a couple of laps to increase your distance, or have a blast on the dirt track

Cross the roundabout, 2nd exit

Shiney Row

Straight over the roundabout, 2nd exit

Bournmoor

Straight over the roundabout, 2nd exit

Car Park
