The way points of this bicycle route:
Get off ferry terminal and walk up to Charles Street. Coffee at Riverside or Port optional.
Turn left. Safer on-road than footpath.
SHARP left onto a offroad path that follows the road under a bridge. Careful for pedestrians as space is narrow.
bump of path onto road, careful as you are against the traffic. However very rare to see anything on this road.
Can turn right here if you want and join this route later
Turn right
UP the steep hill. On balance I think Arthur street is quieter than Alfred St. RTA maps show Alfred as preferred route
Turn left then sail down hill. Careful of traffic joining from left. Particularly during commutes
Motorway overhead, turn left onto off-road path. Careful of narrow entrance.
Still under M4, the path starts to rise, becomes caged, and then passes over James Ruse Drive
BE CAREFUL. The path decends under M4 again. A couple of SHARP and BLIND corners.
Past the Motorbike training centre.
Bring you out onto Martha and Kendall Street junction. Careful transfer back on-road
No easy way across Parramatta Road I am afraid! Wheel bike along footpath for 50m.
Cross at lights. Continue straight across to Berry Street. Most traffic will turn right from James Ruse Dr onto Parramatta Road
Follow path up to Clyde station and down the other side. Keep good control of bike and watch out for pedestrians
Watch for traffic approaching from right. Continue straight ahead.
Australia Post on left
