The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at Park City High School
Kearns (248) has a wide but dirty shoulder. Watch out for glass. Also, lovely rumble strip action.
Bit of a climb here on 248, to clear away the cobwebs. [2008 - construction on right shoulder]
L - Browns Canyon Road. Now on a rural route with decent pavement and shoulders. Traffic is fast, but not heavy. Two small climbs; mostly descent into Peoa.
Horse, cattle and bison pasture land here.
R - SR 32. This is decent pavement, moderate traffic, narrow shoulder.
R - Wooden Shoe Rd. Actually, you simply go straight, instead of following SR 32 to the left. Wooden Shoe is a lovely rural road.
R - SR 32. Back onto this main road. Moderate traffic, narrow shoulders. Watch for ranch traffic, too.
Great views of the Park City ski resorts and the Timpanogos, off to your right (outbound).
L - Village Way (SR 35). This road goes all the way to Wolf Creek Summit. If you need water or supplies, there is a lovely and friendly Country Store at this intersection (clean bathrooms, too).
Wave to Tom Clyde at the Diamond Bar X ranch!
Climbing begins in earnest here. Several 8+% grades ahead.
You made it! 9458 ft! Wolf Creek appears to be a lovely campground, with nice alpine meadows all around.
R - SR 32. Remember about the store here.
L - Rob Young Lane (turns into Wooden Shoe Rd.)
L - Browns Canyon Road.
R - 248. Bit of a climb.
Done!
