The way points of this bicycle route:
The "Old King's Highway" portion of this route is off road with some loose, deep sand sections. I had to hoof it with the mountain bike in a couple of spots (especially the down hill section just before Head of the Meadow). Seek an alternate route if you want a road ride.
WARNING 1: This is NOT a road bike route. The sand was so loose and deep between here and Head of the Meadow, I had to get off and hump the bike a couple of times (especially at the down hill section just before Head of the Meadow). WARNING 2: also dumped my bike (and myself) trying to avoid a 4 ft. long Black Racer (a black snake) that was sunning itself in the trail when I rounded a corner. Someone else might have just run it over, but the nature loving soul that I am tried to avoid it, and I took a "major digger" in the process. This was probably just a freak occurrence, but watch out for snakes! I also had a hawk swoop down within a foot or two of my head on my last mountain bike trek in this area, so enjoy the nature...
