The way points of this bicycle route:
Intersection of North Meridian and Waverly. Guyte P. McCord Park.
Top of the climb on Waverly Rd.
Intersection of Waverly and Thomasville Rd. If the traffic is light, I cross Thomasville to Winthrop Way, otherwise cross with the light at Armistead Rd (80x Bus Stop).
This is a gentle neighborhood with quiet streets.
Woodgate Way empties automobile commuter traffic from Woodgate Neighborhood. Be careful.
Intersection of Woodgate Way and Centerville Road is automobile dense during high traffic . . competiion for the light (BUT THERE IS a LIGHT - use it!)
There are designated bike lanes on either side of Blairstone Extension at this point. There are also Bike Ped paths on either side.
This is a complex intersection and light. Be careful!
Complex intersection. If your ultimate destination is East or West of Blairstone, and you are on the Ped Bike path, consider transitioning to the respective East/West side of Blairstone before crossing Mahan.
Complex Intersection. However, Park Ave at this point has designated bike lanes on the road, and sidewalks. Be careful crossing!
There is a light at this intersection, however there is no bike lane nor sidewalks on Victory Garden. Be careful!
The long slope on Victory Garden and Apalachee Pkwy can be a discouraging climb southbound, or a real "Whee!" northbound. Either way, do NOT proceed to the the intersection. Cut through the back parking lot of the two business between Victory Garden and Richardson Road. These business front on Apalachee Pkwy. You'll see why!
This is a little trick to keep you off Apalachee Pkwy unless absolutely necessary.
There is a light here with a pedestrian push-button, but you'd have to be an Olympic pedestrian to make it across before the light changes. Nevertheless, it is a light! Be extremely careful, and may the force be with you!
This is a complex of business suites and buildings, all commercial, and a bus route. Be Careful. There is a light at the intersection of Executive Center Circle and Old St. Augustine. Use it!
This is a VERY dangerous intersection for a number of reasons. Traffic is always way over the speed limit (its a shortcut) and visibility is poor for motorists northbound. Also, there is a lot of vegetation blocking views. BE VERY CAREFUL crossing this road!
Again, be very careful in here. There is a lot of automobile and bus (this is a StarMetro 80x stop) traffic. The Executive Center itself can be daunting. There are no facilities for cyclists, not even a spigot, but this is my destination. Be Safe - See you out there.
