Start and end of North Ayrshire route.
Cross foot bridge over the Gogo Burn
This route starts in Largs Ayrshire and finishes in Largs. About a third of the route is on quiet roads and the rest of the route is quite heavy trafic. There are some of the best scenic views of this part of Scotland on this route
This is the start of a single track road with very little trafic for the next 12 miles or so. It a steady climb up from here for about 7 miles with a couple of steep parts. At the top it is almost all downhill or flat for the rest of the route. Beware of stray sheep!
From here the view over Greenock and the Clyde esturay is worth a picture!
Start of a steep dangerous descent with poor road surfaces on sharp bends! Start of main road trafic.
On a clear day the view from here is just great, with the Holy Loch and Ben Lomond as a back drop.
