Right then left. Some traffic here, but crosswalks in Davis tend to break up and slow down cars, so not too bad to cross. Cars will often stop to let you turn left.
This is the only stretch where you have to bike near parked cars (alternatively, hop onto the sidewalk after crossing Mt. Auburn St. at the end of Sparks St.)

NB: Vassar is safe to bike in this direction. The 45-degree parking on the other side of the road makes it unsafe to return via this route, however.
