NANAIMO

Departing Howard Johnson - Harbourside. From front entry of hotel, ride to exit up short hill to traffic lights.

Left onto Comox Rd.

Cross Trans Canada 1 (aka Hwy. 19A, Terminal Ave. @ lights)

Comox Rd. becomes Front St. (@ corner). Continue straight on Front St. along waterfront.

Point of interest: BC Ferries to Gabriola Island on L/H/S.

Left onto Esplanade St.

Right onto Crace St.

Left onto Haliburton St.

Right onto Milton St.

Cross TC 1 (@ lights) (aka Terminal Ave., Nicol St. and Island Hwy S.) straight on Milton St.

Left onto Victoria Rd.

Straight on Victoria Rd.

Straight (@ stop) Victoria Rd. becomes Old Victoria Rd.

Sharp turn with short steep downhill.

CHASE RIVER

Straight ahead on Victoria Rd. to deadend (parallel to Hwy).

Take trail on left to access sidewalk. Use sidewalk to reach next set of traffic lights.

Straight on TC 1 (@ lights)

Left onto Cedar Rd. (@ lights & Overpass) There is a left turn lane; use caution crossing over!

Straight on Cedar Rd.

CEDAR

*Caution* crossing Nanaimo River Bridge.

Immediate Right after bridge (short steep uphill climb with sharp corner) continuing on Cedar Rd.

Continuing along Cedar Rd.

Bear Right (@ "Y" intersection) continuing along Cedar Rd.

Bear Right onto Haslam Rd.

Left (@ stop) onto Adshead Rd.

Scenic farmland.

Right (@ stop) onto Cedar Rd.

Left (@ lights) onto TC 1.

LADYSMITH

Straight on TC 1.

Left onto Chemainus Rd. @ lights (aka Hwy. 1A; all signs refer to Chemainus Rd.) Road can be quite narrow in places.

Be cautious of traffic on bridge.

CHEMAINUS

Left onto Pine St.

Right onto Willow (street sign is hidden behind bush on L/H/S).

Point of interest: Murals painted on walls on both sides of road.

Right onto Victoria St. (@ stop)

Left onto Chemainus Rd.

Straight on Chemainus Rd. (@ traffic roundabout). Horseshoe Bay Inn on R/H/S.

**Be cautious of traffic** Very quaint, old, narrow bridge.

Left onto Crofton Rd. **Caution: logging trucks use this road! Road is narrow, winding, and hilly.**

Crofton Rd. becomes Chaplin St. at Left turn. (BC Ferries to Saltspring Island is at bottom of hill). Public restrooms available at Park opposite ferry.

CROFTON

Right onto York Ave. Pub on L/H/S.

York Ave. becomes Osborne Bay Rd.

Left (@ stop) onto Herd Rd.

MAPLE BAY

Right (@ stop) onto Maple Bay Rd. Long, steady uphill climb.

Maple Bay Rd. becomes Indian Rd. (@ corner)

LEFT (@ traffic island, no sign) onto Tzouhalem Rd. Church and school on R/H/S

FIRST NATIONS LAND

Narrow road.

Keep Straight! Tzouhalem becomes Cowichan Bay Rd. (sign shows Cowichan Bay Rd. also goes to the right; ends up on TC 1).

COWICHAN BAY

Be cautious of local traffic; can be very busy!

Left onto Telegraph Rd. (Bench School on L/H/S)

COBBLE HILL

Right onto Kilmalu Rd. (@ stop).

MILL BAY

Left onto TC 1 (@ lights).

Left (@ lights) onto Deloume Rd.

Right onto Mill Bay Rd.

Left at green "Brentwood Bay Ferry" sign.

Brentwood Bay Ferry. Crossing time: approx. 25 minutes.

BRENTWOOD BAY

Straight on Verdier Ave.

Right onto Brentwood Dr.

Bear Left onto Marchant Rd.

Right onto Hagan Rd.

Right onto Wallace Dr.

Continue Straight on Wallace Dr. @ intersection of Benvenuto Ave.

Continue Straight on Wallace Dr. @ intersection of Durrance Rd.

Right onto W. Saanich Rd. (aka Hwy. 17A)

Left onto Royal Oak Drive

Left onto Elk Lake Drive

SAANICH
