The way points of this bicycle route:

Roads narrow with occasional filled potholes; but drivers extremely considerate. Slow but safe section.

Morisset Park

Windermere Park

Brightwaters

Mirrabooka

Balcolyn

Bonnells Bay

More traffic but road is smooth, fast and safe.

Dora Creek

R at station; then R past Liquorland, and R again underneath bridge. Shops are limited for rest of route.

Road improves; hot mix surface with no potholes or bumps.

Freemans Waterhole

Red Bull & Orange Juice stop. 7%; 2km long climb coming up. 3 filling stations & a milk bar available.

Top of Climb

Well done! Road to Mulbring turnoff is excellent. Wide, smooth shoulders and fast surface.

Mulbring Turnoff

Mulbring has a general store.

Road turns to gravel; with exposed rocks as it goes uphill. Returns to tar 700m before White Bridge Rd.

The "white bridge" appears closed indefinitely; must turn R.

Richmond Vale Rd U-Turn

Incredibly bumpy tar road before long gravel section.

Narrow but smooth road through Mulbring.

End Mulbring Loop

Shoulder narrows compared to Brunkerville section; but road is still smooth, fast and very good.

Cessnock Turnoff

Tyre exploded. Walk to Kurri bike shop.

Hampden St is narrow and bumpy.

Kurri Kurri

Go to bike/fishing shop to repair tyre. This is a large town with all services available.

Mitchell Avenue is bumpy; many filled potholes. Don't be alarmed by the traffic; the drivers are not aggressive.

Very satisfactory roads to Telarah. Usable shoulders; minor cracks and moderate traffic.

Weston North

Sawyers Gully

Don't hoon downhill into Farley; road takes a sharp bend and narrows before passing under railway. Trains don't stop here; but DO run from Telarah & Maitland to Newcastle every hour.

Water stop; exhausted.

Telarah Shops

Sandwich stop. Supermarket & take away/sandwich shop if you are tired and can't make it to Maitland.

Watch for broken glass in tunnel under highway.

Traffic thickens a little from here until Raymond Terrace Rd.

Maitland High St

Numerous cafes. Major town with all services available.

Greenhills Shopping Centre

Buy booze from Dan Murphy's

Thornton turnoff

Very good road with good shoulders and smooth surface. Easy ride to Raymond Terrace from here.

Millers Forest

Raymond Terrace Roalyn Park

Drink stop. Bubbler is useless but tap works.
