The way points of this bicycle route:
I use this as a training ride for 400 and 600km brevets. Rolling terrain throughout. Expect big climbs in Hopkinton, Grafton and Boylston. Riding it in reverse is, imho, a little more gentle.
if you feel like dealing with some dirt, instead of making the right on S. Great then the left on Concord, stay on Lincoln Rd. Lincoln will devolve into unpaved farm path after Old Sudbury Rd. and it's pretty fun to ride through. Make a right when you get to Hazelbrook Lane to get back on course.
Boston Marathon start
if you're feeling like Milford Rd. kicked your ass, then stay on Providence Road until it hooks up with Worcester Road just north of Grafton Center. Keith Hill is a 20% staircase and a pretty severe climb. View up there is nice though.
of course, keep in mind that the rest of Worcester is nowhere near this pretty.
this corridor is _awesome_ during foliage season
if you're feeling cooked, then head straight and take Lexington Road, following signs for 2A. Take 2A until merges with Mass Ave. and either pickup the Minuteman Bikepath or ride Mass. Ave all the way back to Harvard Square. Otherwise, it's a few more climbs on Trapelo Rd. through Lincoln, Waltham and Watertown.
