The way points of this bicycle route:
Menlo Park Caltrain Station.
Out the parking lot, Right on Oak Grove Ave

Fly. (Take Pedstrian Bridge to Palo Alto Ave)
Left on Palo Alto Ave
Immediate Right on Waverley St
3rd left (immediately after park) onto Everett Ave
5th right on Middlefield. There is no bike lane on Middlefield at this point. Hold your line and it should be fine
6th left on Channing. It often helps to telegraph this move and get over to the left as soon as there's a break in traffic
5 way intersection, Channing continues off to the right (not hard right)
Chaning makes a left around a strip mall, turn right on St Francis Dr.
Cross Embarcadero Rd
St. Francis Dr continues to the left. (the road straight ahead is a dead end, if you get lost come back here)
St. Francis Dr. ends. Make a left on Oregon Ave, and an IMMEDIATE right onto the high sidewalk. (there's a cutout just a bit up from the end of St. Francis. Downshift, and fly over 101 on the bike/pedestrian bridge.
Left on E. Bayshore Rd. Note: if you cross the street you can pick up the bicycle path on the other side of Bayshore. It is separate from traffic, but crosses a number of driveways that get a fair bit of use in the morning. I find it's just simpler to stay in the bike lane on the other side of Bayshore. Your call.
After the SECOND bridge on the path make a left onto the trail, and leave the traffic behind (Mt. Bikers: you can actually turn off after the FIRST bridge, and join up with this route at the next cue point. Tthe route after that turn is left as an exercise for the reader (since Mt. Bikers like exploring anyway.))
Go right just past the ... only building around for 1/2 mile.
Left at the 3 way intersection (with the island) The lake is visible through the trees.
At the next 3 way intersection / island go left again, follow it around and go over the bridge.
over the bridge
Another island, another left. (no you haven't gone in a circle)
Make a left (after the fence)
Follow the curve around to the right.
descend the hill and the path makes a hard right. Be careful here, the path narrows, you're picking up speed, and the turn is off-camber!
left instead of going down the hill into Shoreline Apitheatre parking.
Right onto Stevens Creek Trail
Cross under 101
Cross Moffett Blvd.
Left across the bridge to the back of the School on Easy St.
veer left, toward tennis courts
bear left just before the road
Cross Easy St. Continue on path
Cross Tyrella Ave, continue on path
Left on Whisman Rd.
Right on Fairchild Dr.
Left on Ellis St.
Right on Manila Dr.
Manilia becomes Moffett Park Dr.
Cross Mathilda. Watchout for stupid drivers who can't read lights.
Left on Borregas
