The way points of this bicycle route:
Suburban neighborhood.
Foothill Boulevard is high-speed but has a nice wide bike lane and is very popular with cyclists.
Busy street with good places to eat.
Bayfront has a relatively wide shoulder but it can be breezy.
101 crossing requires caution but is safer than many highway overpasses.
California and Louis are nice leafy, quiet streets.
On Fabian is an underpass under 101. I ride on the sidewalk here as crossing Fabian near the underpass during rush hour is pretty hazardous. These is no light or stop sign and the road curves!
Ride along Baylands is scenic if a bit stinky during summer. Watch out for strollers and tricycles.
Inside Shoreline Park, Shoreline Blvd has little traffic.
Crossing 101 on Shoreline is a bit scary. Use caution and time it well!
