Enough room here to wait to turn right safely.
Onto path to reach Newtown Bridge
7:09am Newtown Bridge bike bus stop, infront of Newtown Neighbourhood Centre
Cross King Street at pedestrian signals at Eliza St.
For this one way section of Wilson Street take the lane to avoid being squeezed into the door zone. On the way home, use the green contra-flow lane which gives cyclists the right to travel in the opposite direction to the one-way signs.
Cross Regent St onto the far side footpath, in front of the dry cleaner, to reach Wells St. On the return journey, take care on this one-way street as this bike route doesn't yet have signage allowing bikes to go contra-flow.
7:19am bus stop, to collect those coming from Rosebery and Alexandria
Wait for cars running the red light before you cross into the park.
Shared path - please be considerate of pedestrians as there were attempts to ban bikes from riding through here.
The bike bus uses the road here, as there is usually a gap in the traffic at the same time as we arrive. If new and on your own, you'd be better off sticking to the footpath from now on.
For the return, southbound journey, we continue south on Elizabeth St, in the right hand lane, to turn right into Randle Lane and cross back to the park via the pedestrian signals at Devonshire St.
We use the right turn lane to turn into Park Street to reach Hyde Park. Be considerate to pedestrians and officially you should dismount.
7:30am End of the bike bus route. Riders now diverge either through Queens Square to Phillip St, or continue along Macquarie St. 5:15pm meet at the fountain for the return journey.
