The way points of this bicycle route:

Mammoth Cave National Park

Very scenic for most of the ride. Hills, some long, challenging depending on riding experience. Most steep climb is after Nolin Dam.

Green River Ferry here. No charge. Be ready for a long, challenging climb, depending on the riders ability, after ferry

Very scenic in this section.

Kentucky Scenic Byway starts here.

Very scenic.

Nolin River Lake

Traffic on 728 was a 4 or 5 out of 10 on a Friday afternoon in May. Scenic

Nolin River Dam

Nice rest stop with water on left after Dam. No bathrooms.

Long fairly steep climb up after Nolin Dam, here or slightly before (from memory)

Lindseyville

Heavy traffic on this road on a Friday afternoon in May, including a fair number of large trucks. About a 8 out of 10. Two lane road with turns and hills made passing difficult at times.

Brownsville

Long straight bridge here, easy passing for traffic. Nice view. Once in Brownsville, wide roads, easy passing for traffic.

Much lower traffic on Route 70. Mild hills, some long ones as you enter park.

Beware of two loose dogs somewhere in this section. About 60 or 70 pounds. I had a loud horn that scared them off.

Enter park here. This entire road was scenic, and low traffic on a Friday afternoon.

Long, steady climb.

For a short-cut to start / finish, go straight here for 1.2 miles.

Narrow, but very scenic, very low traffic road. Asphalt is rough in spots and becoming less of an asphalt road in a few areas, but still very ride-able on a road bike.

Mostly downhill, going this direction.

"Russel" the donkey on the right. Very vocal.

Continuing a very scenic part of the ride.

Long, fairly steep downhill begins about here. Some sharp turns.

Begin a long, very steep (in places) uphill. This is the most challenging climb of the ride.
