1 - do this trip in reverse to avoid a steep grade near the dam. 2 - Just outside Madras, I have one suggestion. After crossing Hwy 97 going East, when you get to Cherry at the bottom of the hill, if you go R on Cherry and take the 1st L off Cherry you will be able to cross Hwy 97 without having to ride in the highway. by garyskelley
