The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the Capitol Square
Turn on to city bike path
Willy Bikes Bike shop
Kohl Center
Camp Randall Stadium
Entering Southwest Commuter Path
Wave to the poor, poor, cars!
Highway underpass. Note: Allied Drive isn't Madison's finest, keep moving.
Leaving Southwest Commuter Path, turning East onto Capitol City Trail (Trail Pass Required)
Turn left off path onto road. There is a trailhead here with maps. Note that there is a crossing here to head into Fitchburg, but we need to head South on the road to Military Ridge.
Exit road onto Military Ridge State Trail (Trail Pass Required)
Quarry Ridge Park has a bit of single track, maybe a mile or a little more... but is always good fun.
Turn off of Military Ridge State Trail onto Fitchrona Rd. (Shortcut through Quarry Ridge Park or exit after Fitchrona)
Steep hill, there is another one right after it... but its not as bad as the first one.
Turn Left off of Fitchrona Rd. onto County M.
Turn right off of County M onto Borchert Rd
Turn Left off of Borchert Rd onto Purcell Rd.
Turn Right off of Purcell Rd onto Badger State Trail (Trail Pass Required)
Food: Local restraurants ahead on Main St, or double back on 69 to Subway in the shopping center just north of Bowlavard Ave. (1 miles)
Cool Bridge in Belleville
Main Street has 2 small restauraunts East of Green Street and 3 bars West of Green St.
If you would like to skip the tunnel, this is the place to do it. Follow Tunnel Rd until it crosses Badger State Trail again. (adds about .5 mi)
Tunnel. You'll need a light, or you can go around on Tunnel Rd.

Turn Right off of Badger State Trail onto Exeter Rd. (We are leaving the trail to head to New Glarus Woods Park)
Crossing Sugar River State Trail. Head north here to go to New Glarus, and the New Glarus Woods Connector Trail. Head South to go to Monticello and re-join Badger State Trail.
Turn off Sugar River State Trail onto New Glarus Woods Connector Trail. Go North for .3 miles to Fat Cat Coffee Works for great coffee and breakfast burritos. (On the path south of 6th Ave)
Entering New Glarus Woods State Park. The walk-in sites are along the spur-trail access road, and the ranger station is ahead. Pick a site without a number and drop your stuff. Sites 19 and 20 are nice, and they're easy to get bikes into.
Campsites are around here. The ranger station is just ahead. Camping fee is $12, firewood available for $4 per bundle.
