The way points of this bicycle route:

Traffic Light. Cross street is Anderson - fast auto traffic at certain times.
4 Way Stop Sign, continue straight into residential area.
Large speed humps. Road begins climbing.
Rose Street continues straight, but it's a non-obvious road - looks private and turns to dirt. Stay on what seems the main road to the right, which now changes name to Tiburon. NOTE: Rose St will drop you down to San Rafael.
Climbing is mostly done
Continue veering right on the main road. NOTE: Athena will drop you down to San Rafael.
Road name changes to Via La Cumbre. Road will divide into one way lanes soon.
Road divides. Hup, hup, hup.
Via Hermosa is the gentlest climb on a return direction. It is accessed via Eliseo Drive.
WARNING: Drainage DIP in roadway. Safe if you are ready for it.
Road divides again. Get ready to pick up speed.
Blind turn. Driveways abound.
Now you're really gonna drop.
Left turn onto Eliseo (median). Watch for high speed traffic turning off Sir Francis Drake, especially during evening commute.
Traffic light. Generally loop sensor is spotty, but there is a pedestrian button near the crosswalk. Make a left turn onto Sir Francis Drake.
Pick up Bike Lane to cross Corte Madera Creek.
Bike lane ends with non-contrasting white/grey wall - careful at night. Turn right past the "Art House" and pick up Lucky Drive. Can be muddy.
Stop sign. Cross traffic does not stop. You can also turn left on Fifer, then right on Tamal Vista, then pick up the bike path on the right at the traffic light at Wornum Way.
If traffic allows, jump across to the opposing sidewalk. There are a few ramped curbs. Otherwise, continue to the stop sign and turn left to pick up paved bike path.
Stop sign. Pick up bike path across street near exit to high school parking lot.

Right turn onto Tamalpais.
Immediate Left turn onto Chapman.
The "Path" is actually a stairway.
This is the easy turn to miss. If you follow Stetson, it will not take you where the map shows. Really. Make a sharp U-turn to follow Chapman.
There is a big honkin' tree in the middle of the road here. Oh, in case you haven't noticed, you are climbing.
Left turn. It will seem that you are following the main road. What they call Stetson looks like a private drive.
Left on Alta Way will let you drop down Sausalito Street to a path which empties directly onto the MV Bike Path. Kind of a local's trick, but doable.
Road is exceptionally narrow with blind corners from here up.
Chapman Drive ends. You are now at the crest of the Camino Alto climb.
