1 Find somewhere to park for free on sandbanks peninsula then take the chain ferry over to Studland. Follow Ferry Road for 2km then take a right onto sandy singletrack following this then parallel to the road. Turn right at the T-junction, then after 500m go left through the gate. At the next junction turn right, which takes you through the ford crossing, then left into the trees. Sticking to the fireroad take the first right, next left, left again at the cross-roads, left at the T-junction which leads you to Thomas The Tank. 2 Straight on here onto the golf course and follow singletrack west over Studland Heath to the Agglestone. There are multiple tracks crossing so you will need to pay attention to the map and tombstone signs. 3 From the Agglestone, come back down the mound then turn right and follow the singletrack northwest back towards Newton Heath where you will turn left looping back on the fireroad from earlier. Through the ford again but this time straight on at the first junction and follow the fireroad round the edge of the forest to Thomas Tank. This time you will turn right towards Remstone picking up Breaches Lane. At crossroads turn left up Forest Lane crossing straight over New Road up onto Nine Barrow Down following the right fork in the fireroad. 4 This will bring you to the top of the ridge at Brenscombe Hill where you'll turn right towards Corfe Castle along the open grassy track. Enjoy the view before dropping down Challow Hill to the village for refreshment. 5 Reverse back up onto Nine Barrow Down towards Swanage. Keep on the top of the ridge over Allwood Down and Kingswood Down, eventually reaching a track leading down right around Godlingston Hill. At bottom turn right down Ulwell Road, turn left into the second layby after 400m, through gate and up steep short climb. At cross-roads 75m in, turn sharp right and follow track along the base of Ballard Down for 800m then turn left up the super steep Stone Seat Climb. 6 At the top of the ridge turn right and follow track south towards Old Harry Rocks. Follow the cliff side path turning right where you meet the road leading you past Banks Arms along Manor Road into Studland. Straight over at junction with Beach Road into singletrack bringing you out onto Ferry Road. Follow this right back to the ferry to finish. by Kim MBUK
