The way points of this bicycle route:

Eliot Avenue

Pretty easy sailing from here on out.

This small stretch of roadway is pretty steep.

Cemetary on right

Take a full lane when passing the cemetary. It's only for a minute and there is not enough room on the roadway for cars and bikes here.

safely past the cemetary

relax

Route Details

This is a relatively easy way to get from downtown Manhattan or Brooklyn to the Kissena Velodrome in Queens. There is one short hill at Eliot Ave. It's wise to take the full lane for a short distance on Eliot while riding past the cemetary (about 1 minute) because the road is too narrow for cars and bike to share. Or ride the sidewalk for this section. Metropolitan avenue is not much fun but you have to get through brooklyn somehow, and it's plenty wide.
