The way points of this bicycle route:
Start at the park in Fredericksburg. Head over main street and continue along Adams. Watch for traffic and lights.
Turn right onto West Live Oak street, by the Valero station. Follow W Live Oak all the way until it dead-ends into Upper Live Oak. This is a small, quiet road.
Turn left onto Upper Live Oak. Quiet road.
Sharp turn on the road. Watch for traffic around this corner.
Turn right onto 2093. There is sometimes fast moving traffic on this one so keep it single file.
Turn left onto Leyendecker. Use caution crossing traffic on 2093. Follow Leyendecker until it dead-ends into Hwy 16.
Turn left onto Hwy 16. Use caution crossing traffic. Hwy 16 is a fairly major road, but has a good shoulder.
Almost immediately turn right onto River Road. There is a low water crossing here that can be rough. If you see water on the road STOP. We'll tak an alternative route.
Just after the low water crossing take a sharp left; this is also called River Road. There are cattle guards and a little gravel so be careful. Keep a low gear as the turn is uphill.
Continue along River Road until it dead-ends into US 87. This is a very quiet country road with cattle guards and "smells" :)
Turn right onto US 87. There may still be road works here so use caution. Although this is a highway traffic isn't usually too bad, and there is a good shoulder.
Turn left onto Meusebach Creek Rd. Use caution crossing the traffic on 87. Meusebach creek is a quiet country road; there are lots of dogs but they are all penned up.
Follow Meusebach Creek to the left. the road will dead end into Old San Antonio.
Turn right onto Old San Antonio road. This road is fairly quite but does have some traffic.
Turn left onto Luckenbach-Grapetown Road. There is usually gravel in the middle of this intersection so look out. Enjoy the downhill after the turn :)
Follow Luckenbach-Grapetown Rod until it dead-ends into RR 1376
Turn right onto 1376. There is usally light traffic, but it is fast moving.
Turn almost immediately onto Luckenbach Town Loop. Follow the road into Luckenbach!
Mid-way stopping point in Luckenbach.
Follow the Town Loop out of the opposit end of town back to 1376. Take a diagonal left onto Jenschke-Kunz Rd.
Turn right onto Luckenbach Rd. Follow this road until it dead-ends into Hwy 290.
Turn left onto 290. Use extreme caution here!
Ride the shoulder. Turn almost immediately right onto Jung Ln. Follow Jung Ln until it dead-ends into 2721.
Turn left onto 2721; the traffic is light but fast moving. Follow this road along the shoulder all the way down into Fredericksburg. This road is also 1631.
Turn right onto 290, which is Main Street. Follow this to N Washington Street. Use caution: heavy traffic.
Turn right onto N Washington and follow this street for a block.
Turn left onto E Austin St. and follow this to the park.
