The way points of this bicycle route:

Start

Right, followed by immediate left onto Garden

Road veers right onto Weston

L onto Oriole

R on Shannondale

L on Tazwell Pike

R on Anderson

Starting here, it gets real nice... lots of trees, shade, and narrow country roads

L on McCampbell

Real nice ride here through country (for now at least) area

R. onto Washington Pike

Left onto Mill Rd

Entrance to Love's Creek is closed

My original map had me taking the old road to Love's creek, but it appears to be closed (Unless I missed something).

Right onto Millertown Pike

L onto Loves Creek

R onto Buffat Mill

This is a bit of a climb... maybe 100 ft at 11% grade?

R on Teeple

This is normally the end of my commute

This is normally the end of my commute

L onto Edgewood

Left onto Edgewood

R after park, then left onto Claiborne

Cross Broadway and cut through the parking lot to Atlantic

Atlantic jogs to the right across Pershing

R on Coram

L on Chickamauga

R on Bruhin (Central)

There is traffic here, but there's also a wide paved roadside to ride on as you go through / over Sharps Pass

Nice overlook

Well, okay, so your looking at an interstate exchange... Not that pretty

Take soft left onto Durbin after light

It's a lot safer to by-pass the traffic going up Bruhin / Inskip which can be hairy to ride on, so I avoid it.

R onto Glenoaks

L onto Plummer

R onto Adair

L onto Jenkins

R onto Maple

L onto Knox

R onto Cedar

L onto Fountain Dr. by duck pond

Go straight through church parking lot

End

Back at Fountain City Park

Route Details

This combines my long east and west commutes to make a nice riding loop. It's mostly low-traffic neighborhoods, some country farm areas on the east side of town. Basically it starts by the Fountain City duck pond, goes out to Love's Creek, up onto Buffat Mill for a stretch, through some old neighborhoods, around the far end of Sharps Ridge (Sharps Pass) on the west, then back through some neighborhoods to the duck pond again. The elevation changes are mild to moderate.
