The way points of this bicycle route:
The start point is near the dam. Access from Los Gatos and points north (Campbell, San Jose) is via the Los Gatos Creek TRail.
There's a "social trail" or dirth path alongside the northbound lanes of Hwy 17. If you're headed north cyclists are allowed on Hwy 17 along this stretch. Going south, though, you need to follow this dirt path.
Get back on the paved road.
Narrow, very steep, but very low traffic.
Turn right on Summit and cross bridge over Highway 17.
Wave at all the traffic passing below!
There's a little pullout describing the history of Mountain Charlie Road here.
Very narrow, single lane along most of the length. Control your speed on the downhill!
Turn right onto Glenwood Drive.

This is probably the shortest route from Los Gatos/ Lexington Reservoir to Scotts Valley that avoids Highway 17. I marked this commute because I've commuted over this a couple of times and I know a guy that did it three days a week.
