The way points of this bicycle route:
Start / Finish. Assemble in Noland St.
Beware of traffic as you pass through Lowood town. Especially cars pulling in & out of properties.
Descend down towards the creek then climb up.
Left turn onto the Brisbane Valley Highway. SES / Traffic Controllers may be here to stop traffic on your right to give the race priority. Can sometimes be gravel on the inside of the corner.
Beware of vehicles stopping here to make a right turn.
On the dam wall the shoulder can be pretty rough - usually best to stay in the lane.
Climb through this section.
Now descend. You can see the left turn ahead.
Left turn - big open intersection.
Left turn. Again there may be SES / traffic controller(s) here to stop traffic on your right. If not be prepared to stop, though it's a fairly quiet road.
Follow the main road as it veers to the right, up the rise.
There is a single lane bridge ahead which usually requires southbound traffic to give way to northbound traffic. There may be SES / traffic controller(s) here to reverse that scenario.
The main road veers right.
High point - riders can be seen here from the start / finish area. Beware of dogs loose here too!
After the first lap (40km) the race veers right & south into Lowood to continue into the 2nd lap. After the 2nd & final lap, the race veers left here into Lindemans Rd which is the finishing straight. Take care at the veer left here, especially if in a group.
Finish line. Continue straight ahead past Noland St & U-turn towards the end.
