Here's your first uphill for this route. The pain will subside when you reach the watertower. Just keep telling yourself to reach the watertower.

Rural Clay County, MO

Route EE is a great route for an alternate out or return. See alternate map(s) for this route.

There's that watertower you've been looking for. Let the downhill begin. . .

Well, it's not all downhill. Let's just call it moderate undulations.

Here is another alternate route that takes you through Missouri City. See alternate map(s) for this route.

Prathersville, MO

Welcome to Prathersville, MO. This is a widespot in the road, so don't look for a C-Store

The road turns uphill again here. Take a deep breath and don't forget to smile when you climb. Try it, it really does help you fight off the fatigue.

Sprint to the Excelsior Spring City Limits - start somewhere close to here. The sign it just over the crest of this hill. You can do it - go for it!

Congratulations if you won the sprint. Your reward is bragging rights that you still have something left in the tank after 11 miles. You also get to be first to enjoy the next 1/2 mile downhill. There are S curves and speeds typically reach above 40MPH.

Veer right onto Seybold here.

Take a left onto Wasbash here.

Wabash turns into Lake Maurer Road.

Watch for wildlife ahead.

Excelsior Springs, MO

Lake Maurer Road turns into Kansas City Avenue

Wabash BBQ on the left, great food, when you are not on a ride like this one.

You have reached our turn-around for this route - the Historic Elms Hotel and Spa. The return route mirrors the begining.

Are you ready for the big one? If you are not, it's too late. The reward for that sprint finish is now expired.

You've probably made it this far and stayed with the pack but can you stay with them, pull ahead or drop back?

The big climb is over but you're not out of the wood yet. Catch your breath here because the sprint for the City Limits is on the next hill ahead.

Start your sprint for the City Limits about here. . . and good luck.

Congratulations if you won the sprint. Your reward is take the next mile+/- of downhill to catch your breath and wait for the pack to catch up.

Prathersville, MO

The flatlands begin here.

When there is a south wind you will typically feel it begining here.

The flatland is now closed for this route. You are entering the return undulations. . . starting here.

Watch for oncoming traffic on these tight corners. Watch your line so you stay in your side of the centerline.

Remember that watertower? It is your goal to reach the watertower.

Ahhh, the watertower! The road gets a little easier from here on but this ride is yours to make it hard or easy on yourself and more importantly your riding budd(y)(ies). :-) If you still have the gas, it might be time to drop the hammer and let the pain begin again!

There is one more sprint left in this ride and now is the time to start positioning yourself for it. You still have about 1-2 miles to set your pace and position. . . get ready!

Just over this short rise and the sprint will be underway. . . If you aren't in the position you wanted, it may be too late now. Move to your big gears now!

This is a long downhill sprint, so pick your start point carefully. Speeds will easily exceed 40MPH, so be cautious and observant of your fellow sprinters.

If you haven't gone for it yet, NOW may be your last hope or just forget it altogether.

The sprint is over, Congratulations if you were the winner. Rest up, there is one final climb back to the start.

Here is that last climb. Take it easy, you've earned it. By the way, your budd(y)(ies) are hurting just as bad as you are.

The final climb is over, you're almost through.

Liberty, MO

At the end of every ride, congratulations are in order for everyone. Let you budd(y)(ies) know how well they did. If they are you close friends, let them know how well they thrashed you or vice-versa. Time for Cody's - just down the street.
