The way points of this bicycle route:
This is one hell of a bike ride. It starts at the end of Victory Blvd at the open Las Virgines open space area. Proceed down the main fireroad and at the 2 mile point turn right and in another mile you will hit Las Virgines fireroad. This ride will take you to the end of Las Virgines fireroad which involves a lot of climbing and some pushing because the slope of the trail and its condition are for me impossible to ride. This tough part begins at 6.2 mile point at 1656 feet and ends at 6.8 mile point at 2074 elevation. For .6 miles you got to drag your bike up 400 feet to the top of the ridge. At the 7.1 mile point go through the gate and enjoy the relatively flat and descent fireroad to 8.9 mile point. You are probably on private property here. Since you don't see any sigh saying "no trespassing" , play dumb and enjoy the ride and the scenery. At this point you can look down into Simi Valley. Just bear left on any junctions and you will be o-kay. At 8.9 miles you got to climb over a 5' fence and it is here you see the private property sign. I guess the owner figures nobody is crazy enough to come through to his property by the way of this ride.Once over the fence turn left and enjoy a little climb. Where the trail starts vering to thr right toward the power tower continue straight and start descending at the 9 mile point. At 10.3 miles you got a 400 foot nice climb to the top of the ridge ending up at 2158 ft power line. The view up here is fantastic. You got a commanding 360' view of the whole area. 600 below you is Chesebro canyon and the single tracts that veer off from it. Turn around and you can see what you just rode. Turn around again looking to the left of Chesebro you can see the nice little climb you still have to do. Desending off of 2158 peak at 12.5 mile point hyou reach a 4 way junction. Continue straight and begin the climbing again. Finally you reach a junction at the 15.5 mile point. Turn left and enjoy the nice descent and this trail ends at Las Virgines Canyon. Turn right and stay on the main fireroad and 3.5 miles later you reach the end. This ride took me 4 hours to complete not counting any rest times. Bring plenty of water and nutrients and do not do this ride if the temperatures are going to be 90 or above. There is very little shade on this route. Hope you enjoy.
