Depart Lamar pedestrian bridge headed south on Lamar
Right on Barton Springs Rd.
Barton Springs Rd turns left - becomes Mopac frontage road
continue on frontage road
cross Loop 360
take Mopac on-ramp
Ride on Mopac shoulder to cross over Barton Creek - the shoulder is smooth and wide
Take the 1st exit
Right at Southwest Pkwy
Left on Travis Cooke (light at the bottom of a big downhill)
right on Old Bee Caves Rd.
cross Hwy 71. Old Bee Caves becomes Thomas Springs Rd. Convenience store here.
Right on Circle Dr.
Right on Hwy 290 for a brief bit - the shoulder's not great so wait for a lull in traffic because you're only on for a hot minute.
Right on Fitzhugh Rd. Last convenience store before the park - still 23 miles to go
Fitzhugh crosses RR12 - 16 miles left
Fitzhugh crosses Bell Springs Rd - 11 miles left
Fitzhugh bends to the right at Sycamore Creek Dr. Continue to the right on Fitzhugh.
gnarly downhill! creek crossing and a cattle guard at the bottom - be careful if you take it fast
long uphill is the last major obstacle of the day
pass a power transmission station - under 5 miles to go.
right turn into the park 2.5 miles of park road to the fee station.
pay up!
continue on the park road around the downhill bend and take your first right into the primitive camp parking lot. Fill up with water at the spigot - there's no running water and only a pit toilet at the primitive sites. 2 mile hike/ride to the first camp sites.
