The way points of this bicycle route:
Anne Moncure Wall Park is a good alternate to parking at the Lake Montclair parking lot and risk getting towed
The Anne Moncure Wall Park is a good alternate start point, so you don't have your vehicle towed. However Triathletes will want to the second event at the lake.
Traffic is light to moderate, however shoulder is wide
You will want to avoid Minnieville Road as much as possible. Taking Eastlawn cuts through a residential neighborhood to Darbydale Ave
Darbydale Ave will take you to Minnieville Road
Minnieville Road has high traffic volume that intersects at least three major cross roads. There is a sidewalk.
Smoketown Road takes into a residential neighborhood. Traffic volume can vary from low to high. However a number of traffic stops and the speedlimit tends to make the traffic creep along.
Old Bridge Road has moderate to high traffic volume but is a prettywide street
Head West on Prince William Parkway
The Bike Trail starts here. However most bikers will ride the street shoulder until they past the Prince William County Building Complex
Follow Prince William Pkwy to Lake Jackson Drive. The bike trail is on the left side as you head South. Traffic volume remains moderate to heavy. Vehicles are traveling at a high rate of speed in both directions
Lake Jackson Drive is scenic but narrow. The bike trail ends at SR234
The SR234 bike trail starts here. Cross over SR234 and left on bike trail
South entrance of Waterway Drive will return you to the start point
This circle can add some mileage
Following Spaulding around and take right onto Moncure and then left on Waterway Dr back to Anne Moncure Park or Lake Montclair parking lot
